USGENE now provides USPTO sequence data within 3 days of publication

23. January 2008

The USPTO Genetic Sequence Database, USGENE, on STN is now the most timely source of USPTO patent and published application sequence data - available within only 3 days of publication by the USPTO.

USGENE now provides weekly updates on Friday. Weekly updates comprise USPTO issued patent data published on Tuesday, and published application data published on Thursday.

Issued patent sequence data is therefore available within 3 days, and published application sequence data is available within 1 day of publication by the USPTO.

USGENE updates 10 days faster than any other comparable resource, and also typically includes USPTO data 1-3 months ahead of the infrequently updated USPTO sequence collection provided by the NCBI as part of the patent division of the Genbank database.

The revised USGENE Database Summary Sheet is available on the WEB on our Database List.
