USGENE - new on STN

30. Juli 2007

The USPTO Genetic Sequence Database, USGENE, has been released on STN on July 29, 2007.

USGENE covers all peptide and nucleic acid sequences from the published applications and issued patents of the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) from 1982 onwards. The file is updated weekly and data are typically available within 7 days of publication from the USPTO.

USGENE is the new unparalleled resource to perform freedom-to-operate, prior art, validity and infringement patent sequence searches in US patent publications. It is also ideal for those customers who need current sequence information from the USPTO.

The USGENE database includes extensive bibliographic and text search options, including publication title, abstract and main claim as well as patent assignees at issue, full inventor names plus the complete set of publication, application and parent case WIPO/PCT numbers and dates. Each record contains the actual sequence and additional sequence related data like organism name, sequence length and feature tables for modifications and other features.

USGENE is produced by the SequenceBase Corporation and provided on STN as file USGENE.
