The patent information available, and approaches to its retrieval, will be discussed for databases such as IMSPATENTS, PROMT, The Merck Index, Federal Register, NTIS, Research Disclosure, and various subject-specific databases. These alternative patent sources on STN provide valuable information supporting litigation, licensing, competitive assessment, patent status, and patent validity search activities. - Current-Awareness Searches in Patent Databases
A current-awareness search is a useful tool for the surveillance of specific research topics, competitors, inventors, patents, and legal status information.
