Structure Type Search
The Structure Type Search (Fig. 1) enables the user to search within the comprehensive collection of structure types, compiled and assigned by R. Allmann, and integrated into ICSD by R. Hinek ("The introduction of structure types into the Inorganic Crystal Structure Database ICSD").

In the field Structure Type you may enter one of the following terms:
- Structure Type
- Mineral Name
- Sum Formula
- Collection Code
Valid entries are e.g.: Ga6Pu, Y5Si2-xB8, TaN, Fairfieldite etc.
Structure Descriptors
The Pearson Symbol, ANX Formula, Space Group Symbol and Wyckoff Sequence are dealt with in the appropriate sections of this Online Help.
Another search criterion is the c/a ratio, which can be entered as a single value or a range of values.
Valid entries are:
- 1.0
- 1
- 2.5-3.1
