Enhanced PDF order option

- Our document supplier Reprints Desk, California/US will offer e-mail delivery as “PLAIN” PDF from several publishers. At present approximately 7.000 ISSN are available. We expect this number to increase continuously in the future.
- These documents will either be delivered without any DRM encryption or with an almost invisible DRM protection such as a “Watermark”. The order format for these documents is “PDF“.
- Technically, these documents can be opened, printed and handled like any other PDF document. This enables you to forward, print and store these PDF documents according to additional rights, permissions etc. you have already obtained from the copyright holder. It guarantees a safe and convenient document handling (respecting any copyright rules !) and reduces potential conflicts due to DRM protection/encryption compared to the “PDF / DRM” or “PDF / DRM File Open” order options.
- We plan to further extend this offer successively by adding more PDFs from Reprints Desk as well as from TIB, BSB and other participating suppliers. Our intention is to provide almost every document for delivery as PDF using the “PDF” order format.
- To benefit from these enhanced delivery options, we recommend you to set the default delivery format to “PDF” with the help of the menu “User Settings -> Order Details”.
- In case a document cannot be delivered in “PDF” format, all alternative order formats will be offered in a table display.
